‘Casa Daniela’ is one of the most distinctive sites within Fundación Trenca’s network of Supplementary Feeding Stations (SFS) in the Pyrenees. Located close to the Pyrenean colony of Cinereous Vultures, in the municipality of Senterada (between the Pallars Jussà and Pallars Sobirà regions), this SFS, which became operational in 2020, will help consolidate the westward expansion of the species along the mountain range while strengthening the populations of the Pyrenees’ most threatened scavenger birds.
A fully integrated wildlife photography hide has been built at the feeding station, providing a valuable resource for environmental education and nature photography.
Although the SFS is managed according to strict conservation principles, photographic activities help ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the project while creating new opportunities for local development linked to biodiversity conservation.

An agreement has been reached with local accommodation and hospitality businesses so that visitors coming to photograph scavenger birds stay and dine in the village. In this way, local communities benefit directly from the conservation of their natural heritage, strengthening their commitment to its protection.
Although there are other scavenger bird hides in the Pyrenees, the Casa Daniela Supplementary Feeding Station and hide offer a truly unique photographic setting. One of its most distinctive features is its orientation, with the high peaks of the Pyrenees providing a spectacular natural backdrop. In other projects, the position of the hillside where the hide or hides are located does not allow for this perspective. Furthermore, the hide is built below ground level, minimising its visual impact on the landscape while providing an outstanding photographic viewpoint.
The property also includes a traditional stone farmhouse that is planned to be restored and transformed into a reception area for photographers, as well as a nature classroom for school groups and individual visitors, where environmental awareness and education activities focusing on the scavenger birds of the Pyrenees will be carried out.
Since late 2020, the photographic hide has been fully operational and is ready to offer a safe and unforgettable wildlife photography experience. You can now book your visit (subject to any restrictions that may be in force at the time as established by the relevant health authorities). Visits are organised in collaboration with our partners at La Sabina Association.
